Join us for an update on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The Nordic AmChams regularly get questions about the content and effectiveness of the IRA from both public and private stakeholders, so we’re delighted to welcome back KPMG’s top experts to give us an implementation update on the law.

Hannah Hawkins and Richard Marcos will offer an update on the opportunities transatlantic companies have to access record-breaking energy and climate funding in the Act, including tax credits and new provisions, such as monetization. This is your essential update on the implementation, milestones, and opportunities of the IRA. 

Hannah Hawkins

Hannah is a Principal in the Washington National Tax, Credits & Incentives Group. Hannah advises on technical issues related to the energy industry. In particular, Hannah has experience with issues and transactions related to wind, solar, and carbon capture and also with the tax issues associated with rate regulated utilities. In addition, Hannah has technical expertise in various excise taxes, including those related to taxable fuels, heavy trucks and tires, and air transportationHannah also advises on various aspects of tax policy and the Treasury and IRS rule-making process.

Richard Marcos

Richard is the Global Leader of KPMG’s Credits & Incentives Network as well as KPMG’s US National Tax Credits practice. He is a Principal in KPMG’s US Accounting Methods and Credits (AMCS) Practice and is resident in the San Diego office.

Over the past 22 years, as part of the US Accounting Methods and Credits practice in the US, Richard has led several teams in delivering tax planning services for corporate clients, focusing on accounting methods and tax credit/incentive projects. Richard also works closely with KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice to research and determine firm positions on new and unclear areas of tax law.
