Jakob Tellgren elected new Chair of AmCham Sweden

Jakob Tellgren has been elected the new Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden (AmCham) succeeding Malin Parkler who held the post for the past three years. Jakob previously served as a Vice Chair for AmCham.

Founded in 1992, AmCham is the voice of American business in Sweden and a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to promote trade and investment between the United States and Sweden, and U.S. corporate interests in Sweden.

"We are extremely proud to welcome Jakob Tellgren as the Board Chair of our organization,” stated Peter Dahlen, Managing Director of AmCham Sweden. “In his position as the Vice President and Head of the Baltic and Nordic Region for MSD, Jakob brings a wealth of international business experience to AmCham Sweden. What is more, he brings a deep understanding of AmCham’s core mission as the only trade association in Sweden dedicated to U.S. trade and investment.”

“Throughout his time as a Board member over the past eight years, Jakob has offered tremendous support to AmCham, including to our Life Science Working Committee, of which he has been an integral member since its inception.,” Peter said.

“At this historic moment in the transatlantic relationship, I’m honored to become the Board Chair for AmCham Sweden, and look forward to my role in further strengthening trade and investment between Sweden and the U.S.,” Jakob said.

In conjunction with AmCham Sweden's Annual General Meeting where the new Board was elected, the Transatlantic Summit featured a panel discussion entitled: Shared Values: The Power of the Transatlantic & Sweden-U.S. Relationship. Moderated by Elizabeth Walentin, CEO of Crimson Clarke, the panelists included: Anna Stellinger, Deputy Director General for the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise; Lena Sellgren, Chief Economist & Head of Research for Business Sweden; and Malin Parkler, Country Manager Sweden for Pfizer.

The Transatlantic Summit concluded with a keynote address by Pamela Tremont, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy Stockholm.
