Christmas kick-off at Sheraton with new US Ambassador
The holiday spirit was palpable when a crowd of 400 people, nibbling saffron buns and gingerbread cookies, filled the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel for AmCham's Annual Christmas Mingle. This year's fete featured a visit from the new US Ambassador to Sweden, Mark Brzezinski, information about AmCham's mentor program and several raffles with exciting prizes.

AmCham Chairman Hans Enocson introduced Ambassador Brzezinksi, who arrived in Sweden 20 days ago with his wife and 2-year-old daughter. Brzezinski, a lawyer, said he was in China working on a grain deal for his law firm when he received a call about his appointment to Stockholm. Three-and-a-half weeks later, with car sold and home rented, he was in Sweden, and working with "the strongest team at the US Embassy Stockholm".
Brzezinski said his focus will be on "expanding the relationship between the US and Sweden, including on the business side."

Mentoring program launched
AmCham board member Beth Topolovsky introduced AmCham's new eight-month mentoring program, which she designed and heads.
The program, which features mentoring executives from about 16 organizations including Kreab Gavin Anderson, JKL, Microsoft, Accenture, Elekta, Procter & Gamble and GE, will provide 15 young professional AmCham members guidance in leadership, writing CV's, how to give a good interview and a special workshop on the emotional intelligence in the workplace.

R&R raffle
Finally, three lucky guests had their business cards presented and drawn by Berit Salheim, managing director at AmCham and Beth Topolovsky, and can look forward to a bit of fun away from Stockholm this winter.

The winners came from SEB - two round-trip tickets to New York City with United Airlines - Match Recruitment Group - a ski weekend at Sälens Högfjällshotel - and Interpares Konsult AB - weekend for two at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel.
