The American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, AmCham, was established in 1992 and is a non-profit organization for U.S. companies in Sweden, or other companies benefiting from membership, and has more than 220 member companies.

AmCham Sweden works to develop Swedish-American business interests within Sweden by providing advocacy, networking, business information and knowledge sharing.

AmCham Sweden cooperates closely with the American Chambers of Commerce in Denmark, Norway and Finland. 26 firms hold a membership in all the four Nordic Chambers. The AmCham Nordic group is united by on-going projects in the fields of policy, security, communication, and outreach, as well as event organization. The executive directors of the respective chambers hold several meetings annually, and the high-level Nordic conference of the Overseas Security Advisory Council rotates between the Nordic AmChams.

AmCham Sweden is an accredited member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and, as such, is eligible to use that organization's informational and other facilities.

AmCham Sweden is one of the 37 members of the European Council of Chambers of Commerce in Europe (ECACC), which represents the corporate interests of some 17,000 companies, 20 million employees, and more than $ 1.1 billion in trans-Atlantic.
