OSAC was created by American business leaders, in consultation with the U.S. Department of State, to address a wide range of security issues affecting critical American commercial interests abroad, including the protection of intellectual property, criminal and terrorist threats, and economic espionage. The OSAC Country Council has been active in Sweden since 2004, and 2008 will mark some new and exciting initiatives that are not to be missed - including a major summit of regional OSAC committees in September. The main objectives of OSAC are to facilitate the exchange of information and promote programs designed to enhance the safety and security of the community. OSAC shares information on the general security situation and security related activities, discusses security techniques and know-how, and promotes the overall security awareness of the community.
