Mr. Barzun appeared before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee for his confirmation hearing on July 28, 2009. He was confirmed by the full Senate on August 7, and sworn in as Ambassador on August 12. Mr. Barzun is scheduled for an audience with HM King Carl XVI Gustaf on August 21 to present his credentials.
Mr. Barzun has been the president at BrickPath LLC, where he advised and invested in Internet media companies. Prior to BrickPath, Mr. Barzun served as the Executive Vice President for CNET Networks' Business Technology group.
